  • Thursday, July 22, 7:00 - 9:30 PM, Kevin Scott Hall, a singer, songwriter, performer, producer, director, journalist, and master teacher in New York for two decades, celebrates his new novel "Off the Charts!" and offers it to the hometown crowd with a reading at The Rabbit Hole.

    "Off the Charts!" (iUniverse) tells the tale of young Greg Bounder's ambitious attempt to resurrect one-hit-wonder dance diva Sally Testata's singing career. Come to an entertaining "Retro Craft Night" at The Rabbit Hole to and learn some basic techniques of knotting. "Macrame is fun and relaxing and easy to learn," explains artist/instructor Sally Cragin. "We'll provide all the materials you need to make a plant hanger and - if you like - a cool knotted belt." The Cleghorn Neighborhood Center and The Rabbit Hole are excited to bring Aviva Chomsky, professor of Latin American studies at Salem State College to The Rabbit Hole to discuss her book They Take Our Jobs! and 20 Other Myths about Immigration. It is is an agile examination of race and immigration in the US. "If ever there was a need for a pithy primer on immigration, it's now, and scholar-activist Aviva Chomsky has provided just that.   • Thursday, December 17, 6:00 to 7:30 PM, MARK BODANZA, Author of "A Game That Forged Rivals" will AGAIN be featured at The Rabbit Hole. This long-standing football competition between Fitchburg and Leominster has weathered many challenges, including major developments in the sport, wars, economic turmoil, an epidemic, and technological and social change not imagined when the teams first met in 1894. 'A Game That Forged Rivals' shares the stories, dramatic clashes, and challenges that tested these young men both on and off the field. Her Chambers performance is exploring movement qualities that exist within the transformation of perception and the perceiving of transformation, this site-adaptive dance work travels through a series of intimate and expansive spaces.

Kids can bring a favorite poem to read out loud, or we can give your child a poem to read. Moms, Dads and family members are welcome to read also. And if you are a child who is writing poetry, come share your work with a receptive audience.

Come hear how it all got started, from eighteenth century folklore to torrid vampire romance. From fangs and coffins to stakes and sparkles, you'll learn where everything you associate with vampires originates. You can ask questions, hear an excerpt from the vampire novel Mortal Touch, and have an opportunity to get a complimentary Tarot reading! Inanna Arthen has been studying and writing about vampire folklore and fiction for several decades. She is the author of Real Vampires and May the Earth Not Receive Thee and the fictional Vampires of New England Series. She runs By Light Unseen Media, a small press dedicated entirely to books about vampires.
